My personal goal is to be an encouragement to everyone I meet.  I've been blessed with many fantastic friends and a loving family.  As a native and lifetime resident of West Virginia, I'm an excited advocate for the potential of our state and our people.

I enjoy several hobbies, among them are the many outdoor adventures, West Virginia has to offer, hiking, camping, skiing, rock climbing.  Taking scenic photo's is getting to be a new interest, as is sharing them on the web.  As a former Army guy, I'm also deeply patriotic and have an interest in military history.  I became involved in competitive IDPA pistol shooting a couple years ago - very exciting sport - speed, accuracy.  I really enjoy racquetball too - it's the same fast pace that keeps me fully engaged.

My indoor pursuits revolve around a great deal of reading - almost a book a week, magazines, the web - I can't get enough.  Mostly technology, business, economics, as well as staying up with the latest entertainment and movie news.  Never far from a coffee house, I crave a mocha latte at least once a day! At home I'm also making more time to learn how to cook several Italian and seafood dishes that we really enjoy.

My personal life really revolves around those closest to me, Kristen, several of my very close friends and family - and with the many other fine friends that I've had the privilege to get to know over the years.
