We upgraded Daniel’s terrarium from a 10 to 20 gallon aquarium
He helped pick where all the pools and trees go for all of his creatures. We now have 3 toads, 4 skinks, 3 anoles, one snail, one giant centipede, one giant millipede and a tree frog.
Hopping down the bunny trail
Every morning taking the kids to school, at the end of our driveway, we see this little baby rabbit hopping along.
Getting ready for 4th of July!
Let’s do this! We love having some family and friends over for each year with their kids for a little fireworks fun!
The things we google for our children…
Daniel has a question. Daddy has the answer. LMGTFY (Let me Google that for you!) It’s amazing what I’m learning every day.
You can never have too many lizards
Daniel added one more little blue tailed friend to his collection yesterday. I think this makes six little lizards, 3 toads and one tree frog in his terriaum now.
Mailbox knocked down. And gets back up.
I think our mailbox met the wrong end of a baseball bat. I moved it back from the road. A 2 foot hole with a cement footer should help. If this stays up for a while I might build a nice brick one this fall.
Nosy Little Catepillar
Only Daniel would love a little creature enough to let it crawl on his nose.
Celebrating Mawmaw’s 85th birthday with 4 generations
I love this photo of Mamaw, her daughter Sue, Sue’s daughter Kristen (my wife) and our daughter Lily. Wow time flies :)) The children are so blessed to get to know her and spend time with her. Happy birthday Manaw!
Kristen’s Garden has Grown!
We have been enjoying a lot of zucchini lately and I love it!
Evening Sky
Beautiful skyline this evening. I love how the clouds contrast so beautifully with the skyline.
Updating Personal Website Theme
This is a full-page screenshot of my current website. It’s been organized to show the last 10 business-related posts, the last 10 personal post and then some of my recent photos. It’s a pretty long opening page and I’m looking to shorten it down....
Yay! 10k+ steps past three days
So far so good. Parking at the far end of every parking lot and doing laps in the mall at lunch add up!
Walking on treadmill for 30 minutes gives me 1.5 miles
Just a brisk walk. It will be interesting to see how I can build my speed and endurance up over the next month or two.
My treadmill before and after…
It sure makes it hard for me to get any exercise when I have six banker boxes stacked on top of my treadmill. I’m going to make time for at least 30 minutes of very fast walking on it every day. I’ll probably use that time multitask a bit and listen to an audiobook,...
Pre-Prepped Protein
Bought some chicken breasts, fish, sausage, bacon and brats to broil/bake up and have ready to eat throughout the week. My goal is to have some 5 minute meals ready to heat and eat.
Now that’s more like it. Target heart rate.
220 minus your age x 80% = THR. This was at the very end of my 1.5 mile speed walk. I’m also going to log it after 10 minutes post exercise to see how quickly I come back to my resting heart rate of around 70 bpm.
Anyone know where the garden is?
This little guy was crawling across our front lawn, headed straight towards Kristen’s garden. I picked him up and set him on the path less traveled. 🙂
This is the kind of day I need to have to start losing weight
Day 1. More active. Less eating. And eating better. Drinking more water. 10,000 steps a day is a stretch from where I have been.
This is where I park now – back of the lot
Getting 10,000 steps a day isn’t easy. But I made myself a promise to park ‘far far away’ every chance I get.
My first fruit smoothie
This is my new snack. Goodbye chips, crackers and cookies. Banana, Strawberries, Pineapples and Orange juice meetup in a 1000 RPM blender. It is extremely tasty!
This year is half gone. Goal oriented questions to ask yourself
It’s hard to think about, but half of the year is already behind us. It seems like just the other day we were celebrating new years! This time of year always makes me reflect on several things. Have my goals from ealier in the year stayed in focus the past 6...
A wonderful Father’s Day
Kristen, Daniel and Lily made it such a special day. I love the little pictures that Daniel draws – I only wish I had as much hair as he gives me credit for.
